Connecting with the Provenance Portal

All seed and nursery stock data is publicly available at all times. The database is now updated at least monthly.

Register for further information or updates using the button on the left of this page or the login window on the front page.

The exchange portal is primarily for people and groups interested in using known-provenance seed in ecological restoration or rehabilitation programs to minimise the risk of revegetation failure and enhance conservation outcomes.

If you are a member of any of the following:

  • Landcare Group
  • Parkcare Group
  • ‘Friends of’ Group
  • Catchment Group
  • Greening Australia
  • A similarly aligned Group

…or from a Government Agency or company that shares this interest, please access the exchange.  For opportunities to join these groups, please see our supporters page.

The exchange provides an up-to-date database of currently available seed and tubestock, and lists species for which seed can be sourced.  It provides opportunities for people to share their seed by trading or swapping and will support the enhanced use of known-provenance material in restoration programs.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like further information.

In September 2011 the portal began its life with 240 species from 85 genera.

The image below gives you an idea of how the information in the portal is accessed - here over 700 records from the 240 species have been searched to find Yellow Box seeds or plants of known-provenance that are currently in the system.
